My mother passed away December 4th 2019. You representative said she still owed a bill for December. If you look at her records, she didn't even use minutes the last few months. I told her good luck getting the money from a deceased person. She had no estate, at all, unless you want our baby pics and an artificial christmas tree.

Purchased a Jitter Bug Smart Phone 2 and had no problem activating it through Greatcall. However, the service where we live was very spotty and we felt that the service was not adequate for our needs and returnedthe phone to Best Buy within a week and had no problem returning the phone and getting reimbursed for the phone. However, when we contacted Greatcall to cancel the service plan, we were told we would receive a refund for the service plan since it was less than a week. We never received the refund and when we called to check on the status, they told us we had used the phone for more than 60minutes which was impossible since it never worked out here. They refused to refund the $50.00 for the serviced plan but said they would refund the activation fee.(I doubt that). The phone was very easy to use and we were disappointed because we would have kept the phone but Greatcall company will steal your money and leave you high and dry. We can only warn people to stay away from they or be ready to lose your money!

Another major problem I have with the phone is it's size, AND YET THE KEYPAD FOR TEXTING IS SO SMALL THAT ONE CANNOT ACCURATELY OPERATE IT WITH A FINGER! I suggest making it fold like a flip phone, and make the digits on the keypad as large as possible.

I did not purchase the emergency service (they call it 5 star service) and I did not want it, but unless you buy the service, if you accidently touch the 5 star button it immediately calls 911, and they tell me there is no way to disable that function. Had I known that there is no way I'd have bought the stupid thing. If I want 911 I'll dial it, and anyone who can unlock the phone and touch the 5 star button can just as easily dial 911. Such a system which cannot be disabled should be banned by federal law. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe 911 operators have better things to do than answer spurious calls.

The 5 star emergency call button is too easy to bump and the emergency responders will not believe that they were contacted by a poorly placed call button. They start quizzing you about your address and other questions as though I may be lying about needing help.

One time this happened on a narrow mountain road and actually caused me to run off the edge of the road and drag the underneath of my vehicle which could defeat the purpose of the emergency system. I wish I had never purchased this phone or greatcall service.

Attempts to activate the Jitterbug Smart 2 demonstrated to me how piss-poor their customer service, printed documentation and website is. So I'm going to return the Jitterbug and go with another phone.

Worthless phones & worse customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
If I leave my phone alone for a few minutes I lose all service. I must turn off phone and turn it back on to restart service. When I was setting up my phone I called customer service & was told that I was too stupid to set it up. After that I called for help with it losing service 1 answer was it could not happen and then they would hang up, another answer was I was an idiot and hang up. One also told me he knew everything about a phone, I knew nothing. They blamed it on the tower even though I was using a Verizon system and had driven all over the city trying to get a signal. I am going to cancel my service and go back to I phone.

Scam artists - DO NOT USE!!!!

They wanted my social security number and password to my ATT website. THat's a scam! I've switched phone services in the past and they never asked for this information. Guy on phone was a real *** too. Didn't want to answer my questions. Now that's a scam giveaway. THeir ad promises you can keep your old number when you switch, however, they have no control over this!

Poor equipment

A new Jitterbug phone and the "no" button does not work. And saying "no" doesn't work. The female voice robot keeps asking if I want to delete a message. Nothing happens and I have to repeat again and again hoping it will finally work. After repeated tries it sometimes does / and sometimes doesn't. What a waste of money!

Parasites who Have Targeted the Elderly or Infermed

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
After the 2nd bill, my wife realized she was being charged a plan she didn't sign up for. After 3 phone calls to Great Call customer service she got a 'call back' and it wasn't until her 4th bill she actually saw the plan she wanted and it Did Not include the "Medical Alert' system. 6 Month's later the Same exact thing happened, charged for Not only 'Medical Alert' of which is another $27.00 a month but she was now on a lower data MEG rate and a lower 'Talk/Text' rate and a bill 3 times her requested rate. She had advised customer service at "signup" she was disabled and really needed their 'Service". Over the course of the next 6 months prior to her "Cancelling" and tossing that POS phone in the trash and is Now and has been a Very pleased customer of Consumer Cellular as I also have had for over 2 years with No 'switch and bait' practices, she too is Now very pleased and No more gouging by a cell-phone company. Great Call was designed//Advertised to "cater to the Elderly" and just as an insurance company has and Does they too realize Most folks don't 1. Even check their acct. 2. Don't check their bank debits. And what's more, IF you are on "auto-billing" with Great Call, you don't see a bill neither online nor paper until After they have debited your acct., they always have blamed that on her "billing cycle" and have Never issued her Any credits as to "Overpayments". This company operates as a Parasitic bottom feeder distraction and prey on those who are short in the inept status due to disabilities. This company Should be investigated and charged with Fraudulent Billing and Extortion practices Preying on the Disabled and Elderly.

As I'm now pursuing Great Call and Best Buy on another method, they are still a company that have lied, committed Perjury, filed false SEC filing, covered up Crimes on this Defective Device.

The battle is now beginning to grow, I have now gotten from current and 5 former employees evidence of crimes, civil rights and Discrimination against both companies, Great Call and Best Buy.

Do not fear these people if you have information or evidence let me know barnesscott@***.com they and there Lawyers will not be allowed to make threats or cover up the Crimes within Great Call or Best Buy, I'm going to state court within the statue of limitations. Let the battle start,

Great Call and its Parent Company Best Buy have been selling a known defective device called Great Call Lively Mobile Plus, the device is Killing people, injuring people like myself a disabled Veteran. They have after many suits and complaints recalled the device again using false pretenses and unconstrained fake ads and reviews.

DO NOT buy any Great Call Devices as they are selling them under false pretenses and defrauding the elderly, public and now share holders are not being told the truth. If you own BBY shares sell them, if your a Veteran Victim like me contact me for what is going on as we have a new legal tacit to hold them accountable.
